description: This well established company based in Cambridgeshire, is solely focused on the design, manufacture and distribution of digital receivers and decoders for the reception of digital satellite, cable and terrestrial television.

They seek a Software Team Leader to lead and manage the development and maintenance of the company’s advanced software technology products. You will also assist the Project Manager with development and co-ordination issues and liase at all levels internally and with customers, suppliers and partners.

You must have an HND qualification or a Degree in computer science, Software Engineering or a related discipline. You will also have at least 5 years commercial experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS –

Successful track record of managing software projects and teams from concept to release
Detailed knowledge of programming languages, in particular C/C++ and ARM Assembler
Completed several large, complex and multi-disciplinary projects utilising the full software engineering life cycle and using appropriate structured design methods.
Skilled in developing effective relationships(internal/external) as well as evaluating competition
Experienced in operating systems and real time applications

ADITIONAL SKILLS -

Experience of RISC OS or ARM
Operating system kernal or device driver development
Internet protocol development, eg. TCP/IP, PPP, DNS HTTP, SSL , FTP, POP3, IMAP4, SNMP
Audio or Video codec development , eg MP3, AVI, MIDI, Quicktime, Real, MPEG –2
Internet application development eg, Web browser, Plugins, E-mail client, Chat client .
Toolchain Development, eg GNU
Microsoft Word/excel
